Start by checking that the lid O-ring is clean, properly seated, and undamaged. Make sure the lid is tightened securely using the twist-and-lock mechanism.
Next, inspect the barrel unions on the inlet and outlet for loose fittings or worn seals, and look for cracks around the pump body or wet end.Â
Re-lubricate or replace any O-rings or seals that appear dry, flattened, or brittle to restore proper suction and performance.

The Swimflo 2 works seamlessly with the Superflo sand filter. Select a filter size that matches your pump’s power: 0.75 kW for the Q120 and 1.1 kW for the Q160.
If your Swimflo 2 isn’t moving water properly, begin by checking for blockages in the pool system. Empty the skimmer and pump baskets, and make sure the 1.9L pump basket is seated correctly and free of debris.
Inspect the impeller through the rear motor slot—leaves or grit caught inside can restrict water flow. Also ensure the pump lid O-ring is clean, lubricated, and sealing tightly, as air leaks can cause the pump to lose its prime.
Finally, confirm that the water level in your pool is high enough for proper suction and that all valves on the suction and return lines are fully open.

Start with the basics: make sure the pump is receiving power, the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped, and any external timers or switches are functioning correctly. Check that the electrical connections are secure, clean, and free from moisture or corrosion.
If the pump is connected to a multi-plug or extension, test it directly at a wall socket to rule out a faulty connection. You can also use a voltmeter or test lamp to confirm whether electricity is reaching the motor.
If the motor feels unusually hot, the built-in thermal overload may have activated—allow it to cool for a few minutes before attempting to restart.

A humming motor usually means the pump is receiving power, but the motor cannot start turning. First, switch off the power and check whether the impeller is jammed.Â
You can do this by inserting a screwdriver into the rear motor slot and gently rotating the shaft—if it feels stuck, debris inside the impeller or diffuser may be preventing movement.
If the impeller spins freely, the issue may be a worn or failing capacitor, which helps the motor start under load. Also, ensure the impeller isn’t rubbing against the housing, especially on pumps with a stub-shaft design.
