Even though you will not use your pool for a few months, it’s more challenging than covering it and walking away. You’ll get a green pool as a result. Here are some suggestions to assist you in re-opening the pool without performing expensive and time-consuming repairs.
Clean your pool
Remove all of the debris, including leaves and sticks. They may discolour if they remain on the bottom of your pool for a long. Remove anything stuck in the pool pump basket and the skimmer basket.Â
Clean the filter
To eliminate clogs and oil in the filter, use Filter Cleaner & Degreaser—backwash following chemical treatment. Remove and clean any cartridge filters you may have.
Balance the water
Ask your neighbourhood Baracuda stockist to check your water and ensure it is balanced. If not, adjust the dosage using pool chemicals. The pool may need to be shocked.
Use long-life algaecide and phosphate remover:
To stop algae growth, add Pool Algaecide and Phosphate Remover. Avoid overloading your pool with copper to prevent stains from developing.
Check equipment is functioning properly
Make sure the pool pump is functioning, and if you have a chlorinator, check to see if the cell has any calcium accumulation. If there is, you can eliminate the calcification by using a Salt Chlorinator. The pump, filter, and chlorinator should run for 2–3 hours daily. Explore our related post that covers how long to run a pool pump for.
Check the free chlorine value frequently, aiming for a range of 1-2 ppm. However, the output of the chlorinator can be reduced. Adapt the output as necessary.
