The BARACUDA® Automatic Swimming Pool Cleaner was invented in 1976 by Helmut Hofman. BARACUDA® was one of the very first automatic pool cleaners.
BARACUDA was introduced in the early 1980s with a fresh new diaphragm technology, which set it apart from its competitors by allowing for quieter operation and greater manoeuvrability. The diaphragm technology developed by BARACUDA is still utilised in disc suction pool cleaners today.
Zodiac South Africa purchased the global BARACUDA business in 1996.
Today, BARACUDA offers total pool care, including pool equipment, such as pool pumps, automatic pool cleaning solutions and accessories, and automatic pool cleaners. All BARACUDA products are of excellent quality, yet they are inexpensive and simple to install, use, and maintain.
